The Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Mr Warren Truss, today announced approval had been granted to Sydney Airport for a major development of  transport infrastructure in the Terminal 2/Terminal 3 precinct.

The Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Mr Warren Truss, today announced approval had been granted to Sydney Airport for a major development of  transport infrastructure in the Terminal 2/Terminal 3 precinct.

In addition to the construction of a new 430 bed hotel, there will be new measures introduced allied with the construction of  transport infrastructure to improve traffic flow around the T2/T3 precinct.

Currently Sydney Airport caters for 37 million passengers a year, with these numbers increasing by 3.4% a year.  It is forecast by 2033 there will be 74.3 million passengers passing through the airport.

Sydney Airport calculates 280 000 jobs are generated directly and indirectly by activities at the airport.
