The Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Warren Truss has announced a new air service agreement between Australia and Chile to allow for the doubling of capacity.

The Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Warren Truss has announced a new air service agreement between Australia and Chile to allow for the doubling of capacity.

The agreement is effective immediately and allows designated airlines from Chile and Australia to operate up to 4000 seats a week across the South Pacific.  This will double the previous permissible capacity.

Mr Truss in the media release stated "the Australian Government is committed to ensuring that we have the aviation capacity necessary to meet future demand ..."
